Where You May Borrow - Shared Borrowing Group

The Old Town Public Library is part of the Minerva Shared Borrowing Group. This allows you to use your OTPL Card at other library locations throughout the state.

How does it work?

  1. Take your library card, or obtain a new one from us at the circulation desk, and visit any one of the participating locations.
  2. Use your card just as you would here.
  3. Enjoy checked out materials.
  4. Physically return any checked out materials back to the library you visited or here.

It’s as easy as that!

It is very important that you bring a physical card when visiting any participating library locations. Other libraries will not be able to look up your account.

Keep in mind that you are still our patron and any issues with your card need to be addressed with us. Holds also need to be placed with us and picked up at OTPL. Issues relating to any checkouts done at a different location would need to be addressed with the checkout library.
