What is Dungeons & Dragons?

Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) is an immersive tabletop role-playing game that blends storytelling and imagination. While it shares some similarities with board games, D&D doesn’t require a physical board. Instead, it’s driven by a Dungeon Master (DM) who leads players through a dynamic adventure. Players make decisions, explore various narrative paths, and use polyhedral dice to shape the outcome of their journey.

At its core, D&D is a fantasy role-playing game, but its flexible structure allows for any genre of storytelling—whether it's medieval fantasy, space exploration, or even magical worlds like Harry Potter. D&D is enjoyed by people of all ages and is often hosted in community spaces like schools, libraries, after-school programs, and clubs. It’s widely recognized as a fun and enriching activity for children and adults alike, promoting creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving.
